It's On To The State Finals for Spencer It took someone stronger than Sampson to pull it off, but now, Pike's D'Marcus Spencer has advanced to the IHSAA state finals, with a semi-state victory in the 130lb weight class Saturday night at New Castle! Spencer defeated Perry Meridian's Sampson Cook, 10-1, to take first place at the New Castle semi-state. New Castle's Cody Fellers finished third with a 6-2 victory over South Vermillion's Wade Bohannon. For Spencer, it means a trip to Conseco Fieldhouse this weekend for the state finals, which begin Friday night (Feb. 20) at 6 p.m. The quarterfinals will take place Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with semifinals to follow. The title-deciding final matches begin Saturday night at 7:30.
