Teague Decision Delayed

Bloomington, Ind. -- Marquis Teague is nearing the day when he'll make a decision on college. Until then, every move of the Pike High School junior-to-be will be watched closely -- including his wardrobe.

Teague said not to make too much out of the fact that he wore an Indiana sweatshirt to the adidas May Classic at Assembly Hall on Saturday.

"It's just something one of my dad's friends gave me," Teague said with a laugh. "I just wear it."

Teague had previously said he would announce his college intentions in June, but his father, Shawn Teague, said Saturday night those plans have changed and it will likely be "after July."

Teague is playing for the U-17 USA Developmental National team and will be in Colorado and Argentina most of June. The travel ball schedule fires back up in July.

"We haven't had time to really sit down and evaluate everything and with the schedule so crazy for June and July, we probably won't be able to until after that," Shawn Teague said.

The 6-1 point guard, considered one of the top 10 prospects in the 2011 class, said Kentucky has joined the list of schools he is considering (although they have yet to offer), joining Cincinnati, IU, Louisville, Ohio State, Purdue and Wake Forest.

Teague, the younger brother of Wake Forest standout Jeff Teague, wouldn't list a favorite among the seven but was asked about IU.

"I've been talking to (Indiana basketball coach Tom Crean) since he got there," he said. "I like his program and it's close to home. I like Indiana."
